I think this is my favorite so far.

The graphic and sounds reminds me old casino games which makes me feel good and comfortable.

The game is challenging and you can play it multiple times with additional value of training your brain.

This is a great example of demonstrating how the house has the advantage, and it really tests your memory skills. Definitely one of my favorite games in the jam.

This is a good example of how a simple idea can be made very engaging with great art and polish. Simple idea and superb execution.

The only major feedback I have is that it was sometimes hard to distinguish king and jack from each other. Probably would get easier if I just played for longer.

@alks Thank you for the feedbacks ! We recorded audio ourselves and we don't really know how to edit sound fx so it's indeed a bit raw.

I didn't expect this to be as fun as it was, but the polish really sold it. Nice animations and audio. The kind of game you're always looking to challenge yourself to go one better in.

One of the best games I've played so far!

The gameplay is fun and easy (and I could probably play this a game irl with someone), and is good for testing your memory. The music's also top-notch, it's super chill, and it fits the atmosphere of the game proper. A few critiques are that there should be more calm music for this game, and have it an option to change tunes, as well as include the suits from the ace to 9 to make it more trickier (unless that's already happened, and I haven't made it that far ahead).

Another solid plus is that the dealer himself is a well-made character. He's a bit witty, not as patient as he looks, and he's good at misdirection, also reminding the player of the theme of this jam in that they're delaying the inevitable ("The House Always Wins", indeed). Usually, I would nitpick at the fact that this game doesn't defy the theme, but the theme suits this game very well (has anyone beaten the house at blackjack?). The look of the game is also another stellar home-run. Everything shown is so clear and soft, no jarring contrasts to take it away.

To sum up, great game, a simple marvel! :thumbsup:

Cool game! I found myself sticking to a theme each round and really strategizing my picks. Good work!

Echoing has been noted out before, this was probably one of the most polished jam games I've seen. The music, the art, the gameplay, it all comes together to make something that is very complete. It was a joy to play through, simple but challenging and after the first few rounds a couple different strategies started coalescing for me.

The take on the theme was so refreshing. I think a lot of games went down a route where the games were endless. This one is 'delaying the inevitable' because the house always wins. 50 levels is insane. The hand-craftedness adds to the difficulty ramp feeling perfect. (Though I got nowhere close to 50)

The only thing I can say needs adding is some quality of life stuff and balancing. Maybe music choices, art-packs to keep it fresh. The dealer could be slightly more interesting in terms of comments.

But these are nitpicks. As a whole, this is a brilliant game. I loved it.

Excellent idea and yet so simple! Classic casino design with some comfy music, very nice! Also liked this small detail, when the dealer gives you some comments or one-liners :D

Very well polished and an interesting take on the "Memory" card mechanic!

That was great! I found myself developing all these mnemonics for remembering cards, trying to come up with systems for which cards I've already picked, and even then beating 3 rounds was a challenge. Great game. Also I *love* the aesthetics. Visual and auditory for sure.

I found this great in audio, visuals and game, it's rather fun for me and I'd actually play it in my free time just to pass time! good job :D

The design is so simple, and the only real thing one could say against it is "Wait I am actually sure to lose if the deck contains a finite number of cards", which hits the theme so perfectly.

Great job on the art, the UI design, the rythm, the animations, all the polish in general. The game even ran perfectly on a 21:9 screen in fullscreen mode!

Simple but effective! I like the level of polish your game has, it looks like a complete game and that is great. I've managed to go through the first round not realizing that I can't pick the cards from the whole round, not just the very last one. I guess I've misread "in a round" as "in a row", lol! I thought the game will throw some really confusing distractions on me to make sure I will forget the one card I've just picked. Anyway, the way it actually works is cool and I liked it a lot, great game!

Wow, this really tests your memory. It always baffles me, how some people come up with the most basic but original and new ideas in a game jam. This is so fresh and new, but also seems like I should have seen it already. And the great execution with art and sound just adds to that. Very well. Also, I'm not gonna tell you my highscore, because I am embarrassed, thank you very much.

The way this game presents itself is absolutely amazing. The clean casino style, the cards which are beautiful, the soothing jazz, the voice acting, the quippy lines, everything plays together super nicely. And the game concept itself is so simple yet so fun, I really don't know how to say anything negative here. Amazing job.

This is a very nice jam game!

Visuals are very clean and the game is pretty polished. It's a neat twist on the classic memory game.

I really wish it gave letters for the face cards, as I have a hard time distinguishing between card art for kings and jacks. Restarting on round 1 instead of the round that I failed also makes me not want to give up rather than replaying all of the rounds that I already beat.

I was hella fangirling over the presentation, no joke its SO good. There's a lot of subtle things that make this such a gem, well done!
