Overview

LdDB ("Ludum Dare Database", "we", "our", or "us") aggregates publicly available Ludum Dare data. Browsing needs no account and stores nothing about you; creating an account stores exactly what is listed below, and nothing else.

Browsing (no account)

• No tracking cookies: visiting LdDB sets no cookies at all.
• Self-hosted analytics: we run a self-hosted Umami instance that receives standard request data (IP address, user agent, page URL). Nothing is shared with advertising or data brokers, and no third-party analytics (like Google Analytics) run here.
• Error reporting: we use Sentry to collect error reports (stack traces, browser/OS versions) when something breaks, so we can fix it.

Accounts (claimed profiles)

Ludum Dare participants can claim their archived profile. A claimed account stores:

• Cookies: a session cookie (so you stay signed in) and a display cookie holding your public slug and avatar reference (so pages can show you're signed in). Both are first-party and functional – no tracking, no advertising.
• Credentials: passwords are securely stored using industry-standard practices.
• itch.io identity: your public itch.io user id and username, used once to verify the claim. The itch.io access token is used for that verification and immediately discarded – never stored, never logged.
• Recovery email (optional): only if you add one, only after you confirm it, and only for password recovery. Never displayed, never shared.
• Profile content you author: bio, social handles, uploaded avatar. Avatars are re-encoded on upload, which strips EXIF/location metadata.
• An audit trail of account actions (claims, password changes) for abuse prevention.

Data We Display

LdDB displays publicly available data from Ludum Dare's official API and archived versions of the legacy ludumdare.com website. Game entries, ratings, profiles and statistics shown here were already public.

Your Rights

You can edit your claimed profile at any time from settings. To delete your account (un-claim the profile) or remove your data, ping us on Discord or @nzvtra – we remove accounts on request. Archive data that was already public on ldjam.com is covered by the fair-use disclaimer.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
