Here I give you my MUD in a facebook app. I have long loved MUDs and thought the idea of a mud fit the theme well. Even though it is on the web, everything is pretty close to real time.

It has the following features:
Walking around rooms
Talking and emoting
Attacking monsters and other users
When you get enough experience you can train to be stronger
Leader board
To play, you will need a facebook account, and go to this link:
http://apps.facebook.com/minimud/
Add the app to your profile, then create a character and then click the game tag to play. Once in type “help” to get a list of commands and get going.
It is also more fun to play with others, so bring a friend along for more fun!

Not much to do in this game. The most fun bit was talking with the other players. I guess it's successful as a chat client.

Sadly, I think you're going to run into people being unable to play this due to not having facebook accounts (I don't have one, either).

It's surprisingly fun considering that there isn't much to do. I just really had to get strong enough to kill that skeleton, but after that, I just had to hope someone else was around and wanted to fight.

It seems inconsistent when it comes to providing messages, such as if someone has attacked you or if something has died.

Not a bad game, but a bit too minimal for a mud, hehe.

Well, I do have a facebook account. Lot of stuff for 48 hours, very cool. However, I think a character name check would be good, as it looks like a lot of people aren't naming their characters...

I had some decent giggles smashing rats in the sewers. I'm not big on text games without some imagery, but that's just me. Rather impressive entry tech-wise, I think :)

Harr. I'm not on facebook. Actually rather surprised by the comments here that so many others aren't, either.

It's totally weird how you get "you hit rat for 2 damage" messages, but no indication of actually KILLING the thing! And they don't seem to hit back, except I now have less HP, so apparently they do. There's a serious serious shortage of messages here, and it completely eradicates the game for me.

It's pretty nifty how it's realtime (not to mention, I think it's the first MMO ever in an LD48!), but it's totally insane what it doesn't tell you. I can only assume that's a bug, or messages not getting to me. But since I get all the hit messages and none of the got-hit or killed it messages, I doubt it's a connection issue.

Also, on a more real-game note (as opposed to 48-hour type issues), it would sure be extremely nice to see your stats on the same page you play on! Even if it was a command to view them, though it'd be nicer if they were in a side pane as you played.

Of all the entries, this one probably has the most potential to really turn into something for real (or is Facebook full of MUDs?) that could make you a millionaire as Facebook apps do. But right now, it's really really hard to play.

A cool idea, I'm really surprised all these people don't have facebook accounts. Shame the game didn't work in Opera, so I had to start up mozilla all for this! The game is pretty nice. I died though, and it didn't really tell me anything. :P Battling rats was quite exciting but it seems like you'll have to kill a shitload of them to develop your character. (EDIT: after reading some of the other comments it seems like I've played an updated version, since for me all the hit and attack texts worked nicely, this is a bit of a problem with facebook apps since I can't really test the 48h version)

I killed some rats, it never said they hurt me, then I died for no reason. It's cool that you have it running -- flesh it out and make a game out of it.
