Objective

Get as many sheep into the correct goal (white sheep -> light blue, black sheep -> dark blue) within the time.

Controls

Number pad keys 2468 to move, space constructs a hedge, X will deconstruct a hedge.
Hedges cost resources, which can be increased by picking up the resources on the field or by sucking up existing ones.

Numbers 1 to 8 load those levels.
Esc to toggle the gui, Q to quit.
+ and - will zoom the view in and out.
WSRY will mess with the camera tilt, but this isnt advised.

Level text files can be easily edited if you want to experiment.

Good graphics, bit tricky, pretty good for a 48 hour game ...
Can't get it to run using JRE1.4.1 on WinXP: "The procedure enty point alcGetEnumValue could not be located in the dynamic link library OpenAL32.dll"

Putting the Java 3D Open gl to good use. Shame there's no sound though. Looks promising - another few days on it and it's be ace.

Had a good larf playin this one. Needs more instructions about the objectives
Couldn't run the game...
If I ran it from the shell, I would get
"Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: CounterSheep"

If I ran it from explorer, it would say it couldn't find the main class...
Uhm, i see it uses NIO so I guess it needs at least Java 1.4.0.
It's pretty neat, but I couldn't really figure out what I was supposed to be doing. I liked the smooth animations, the bouncy sheep, and the cursor inerta.
Somewhere in the readme you should tell people to start it by java -jar CounterSheep.jar, and what version of java is required.

I started it and it popped up an screen resolution dialog, but after that it dumps out saying failed to register window class (fullscreen or windowed).

It may be that my piece o crap machine is just too weak.

these are the best 3d graphics of the contest. most of the entries don't use normals/vertex lighting.
