I remember seeing this game on your blog during the compo and had no idea it would look so RAD in motion! I dig the unique look of the game! It's kinda hard, but then again... I suck at shmups.
Dear god, what the hell is this?! There are fish bones in my brains?! And crabs? How can I have crabs up THERE?! Why. Wha... faa-screw it, I'll just blow them up and snort some more drugs. Wooo!
Very well done on the graphical style. It's got the frame numbers that most sprites don't get close to in this compo.
Bugged me that when starting the game I had a really powerful gun and suddenly someone wants to "help" me, gives me a pill, and I'm no longer all-powerful :(
I can't get past the crab army during level 1, so I can't competently say anything about how the theme was placed into all of this, sorry.

Gah, shieldbug. Am I supposed to get single random shots in due to collision slippage, or is there a faster way? Anyhoo, I think the bug wins.
Also, are you sure you're not cactus? Or Terry Gilliam? Really cool presentation, and there is ample feeling. Good stuff.
@DrPetter, you're supposed to go into the circle to shoot. The shield doesn't kill you.
Got a ton of inspiration from cactus, was hoping I didn't rip him off too much to be noticeable, heh.
Bit more feedback on how damage is being taken would help, but overall a smooth little SHMUP with some tripped out visuals.
