Well, it aint gonna win any prizes (most probably due to the meagre number of levels; I suck at level design!), but I'm not really bothered.
What matters to me is that I created a game in less than 48 hours, and for that I am very happy!
The basic premise of the game is that you, as King Midas, turns everything you touch to gold! (Well, just empty tiles actually. I'll claim that as artistic liberty.)
You get +10 points for each tile you convert, +100 for bonus tiles. The aim is to get through all the levels, converting as many tiles as you can to get the maximum points payoff!
Controls are simple, arrow keys for movement and Z to use your pickaxe (breaks a gold block in the direction you're looking, but costs you 200 gold!).
I hope you like it, and please do make levels if you want to. It's very simple, just go into res/level/ and make a 32x24 PNG for the level layout, and a txt file with the same name as the image for the description that appears at the top! Finally add your level name (filename without the extension) to list.txt in the order you would like it to appear and enjoy!
If you make any cool mods or whatever, do email them to me at [email protected], I'd love to hear from you :)
