Controls: W,A,S,D - Move Up, Down, Left, and Right Left Mouse - Attack
Goal: Get to Wave 10 and kill the boss!
NOTE: After knocking ideas around for hours and developing the game the theme is very minimal (which is sad, the theme was great this time). The theme is mostly shown in the boss fight at the end!
Updates: 1.1 - I've made the game a bit easier, double your health and adding health packs that drop at random.
Simplistic but efficient. I liked the effect when killing enemies and the camera shake when getting hit. It was kind of difficult to make it far tho since you loose health if the enemies even get close to you from an angle. The controls were good and it works perfectly on Linux using Wine.
Too bad I couldn't use ZQSD on an azerty keyboard, arrow keys didn't work either. I felt that the gameplay was a little stiff, didn't think the movement was fluent. If you ignore that, you can easily lose hours in this game!
Based on 1.0, the contest version: It's so hard to win against the pilgrims, it's almost a realistic depiction of history lol But I had a lot of fun playing. Great idea to call it "Manifest Destiny". I often tried to attack enemies from the side, which always resulted in lost health, though it did not feel as if they hit me. Fun little game. I wish I would get to the boss.
Really liked dismemberment it was really well done.
