In Neon Spores you play as an alien trying to influence the evolution of an ecosystem.

edit [28-08-2012]: I fixed some a bug which caused a crash by spawning too many sprites
You can change your window size by editing "preferences.txt"
Controls: WASD - Move Left Click - Shoot energy Right Click - Drop held plant
See the screenshot 3 for how to play. There is no real victory condition, just try to make as much of the ground green as possible (until you die or the game slows down and crashes...)
Known issues: - You can fly into the ground and you wont die - I forgot to add the code that stops you flying off the edges of the map, oops - Game balancing - Stability
I think this could be pretty fun with some kind of win condition added and a few tweaks. I like the idea of slowly covering the land with your trees and advancing on the enemy while fighting off invaders who are trying to do the same.
The enemies sure can populate very quickly. Of course, I The controls for the ship is a bit slippery, but I guess it's all part of the challenge. Still would have been nice to have an actual ending.
