I really like your graphical style, +1 for that. The game itself is pretty funny as well. The only thing I did not understand was what the game has to do with evolution :P
well i didn't want to make a classic concept with evolution in the gameplay ( plus i can't programm it ). My main goal was to represent evolution the way i think it.
First i wanted to make a gunfight between a man and a primate, but : first, the gameplay SHOULD have been unbalanced and this wasn't my idea and second, i came with the idea of having two apes fighting. This led me to "2001 space odyssey"'s openning and to "Quest for Fire". For me THIS is evolution. It's a fight that doesn't need beeing always the smartest or the fastest, it is also pure brainless violence like shown in these movies.
Very simple, great artwork, nice job! Sadly I don't have anyone to play against, so I don't think I got the full experience. If you build on this game I hope you'll consider adding a single player experience. It might be fun if the game were an on-rails shooter a la Time Crisis but set in 2D.
well i can try to make a single player mode later, but i also thought implementing a DDR-like gameplay, maybe in a fencing game ( my first idea for this ludum dare ).
Unfortunately, don't have anyone to play it with, but I tried playing against myself and it seems really simple and clever. Kinda like rock-paper-scissors, with cavemen and guns.
The graphics really reminded me of "Another World"! LOVED the art style! Although I didn't have anyone to play it with me, I can really see that this game can be a lot of fun. Simple, yet VERY entertaining.
Reminded me of a little game I used to play when I was a kid (no, not with guns, lol!), where you gotta dodge the other player's slap on your hand... I'm not sure I can explain it correctly here, but it's the same feeling!

Simple and fun. The mechanics are easy, but there's a lot of depth. I think that there should be some motivation to not hide all of the time - ie. some way to force a person out of cover. Anyway, I enjoyed it :)

I love single machine multiplayer games, graphics/animation are solid as well
the only problem I'm having is to find any connection to the theme ... but who cares, it's fun :)

@mdkess : yeah, i'm still trying to figure out how i could easily do it :D
Wish it was a bit more rock paper scissors -- not sure what other actions you could do, but something to force people out of cover.
