is it just me or do the good weapons always spawn on the left

Easy and clean. Nice.

The web version goes all white and wonky when your own bullets hit enemies. Some bullets like green ones are hard to see from the background.

The game runs smoothly and is really nice to play. Something i didn't figured outwhile playing. Do the weapons have different power or only differnet graphics? - I always needed three hits to destroy the enemy.

I don't like "slippery" movement in shmups (I hope I speak well) but it's a matter of taste I guess.
The graphics are very good.
It seems that the game is infinite, so a score would be a good idea. Here we have no objective.

Some of the differences in weapons seem to be subtle but all in all the more stuff i picked up the poorer my weapon became. Must be bad luck.

@AdventureIslands unfortunately I only tested this in Chrome over the weekend. It seems it doesn't work very well in other browsers.

@hirsh No, every bullet does the same damage. In retrospect I should have made the damage change with the size.

@Andrew Your weapon just becomes "more like" the weapon you pick up. So if you have a fast weapon and pick up a slow one your weapon will slow down.

I loove shoot-em-up games. My only complaint is that the bullets are a bit fast, and a couple of sound effects would've been cool.

It was simple, but I enjoyed the look and feel of the game. I liked that no explanation was needed to play, you press z to play, immediately see that it shoots, and you already know how to play. That seems insignificant, but after playing a lot entries with several page long tutorials, you start to see that that is an underrated quality.

The graphics are great!

do the weapons evolve or just the graphics? as it fells as if it is just the graphics.

The bullet size, speed, acceleration, spread and firerate all change. But the damage does not. So the effectiveness of weapons does change. I wanted to do more but time didn't permit.

A nice little game. However, I can't tell how the pickups will change me so I just keep on picking them up and hope for a better weapon. A little indication as to what the pickups are might give me an informed decision and alter my playstyle. :D

At first I thought that was a strange comment, but I guess it is not clear enough. I will consider how to communicate more information through the behavior and appearance of the pickup when I work on this again. At the moment you have to look at the weapon of the enemy before you kill them to gauge how its powerup will mutate your weapon.

Great work on the graphics! The gameplay could be better though: there's no real feeling of progression, it's not clear how many times you can be hit before you die and there doesn't seem to be a way to restart when you do (apart from reloading the page). I'd suggest starting the player with the same initial weapon each time and only releasing the more powerful ones after certain milestones have been reached. A score counter and a high-score table would be an easy way of adding some feeling of progression too. I do think there's the seed of a good game in there though & would love to see a post-compo version.
