Everyone who's been to school has heard of the 10-second rule!

If a piece of food hits the floor, it's totally OK to eat...for 10 seconds. Any more than that, and it's inedible garbage that should be thrown out.

Put the food that falls down back on the table by dragging it with the mouse. If any food becomes rotten, put it in the trash. Be careful--the trash can only hold so much!

The game ends if you have too much rotten food on the floor, or if you put too much rotten food on the table.

* EDIT 09/06/13: *

I fixed a typo that was killing performance in the normal version, and added the .py source for the normal version as well (requires Python 2.7 and pygame), plus removed a few unnecessary packaged files.

In better news, I also got the post-compo version up! As promised, it comes with a title screen and better usability, the sound that I messed up right before the end of the jam, and a better food-spawning formula to fix the difficulty a little bit. Give it a try, if you prefer!

(The sounds are modified versions of sounds taken from freesound.org.)

Notes:

The distribution file is huge and terrible because we were forced to check out of our hotel room, so I had to freeze the script quickly. Some unneeded python files are in there, so I'll remove them as soon as I can.

I'm happy we finished this game at all! Usually I enter the solo division, but my sister came halfway around the world to see me, so we entered the Jam in between family events and heavy traveling. She'd never made a game or anything before, so I put her to work making the food and rotten food animations. Thank her for those!

I borked up a bunch of stuff in a mad rush to the finish, so look forward to a post-compo version that adds sound, a title screen, and improves performance.
