Keep Away

This game is from the old Ludum Dare platform. You can try viewing the original page on Web Archive
(may not load correctly).
The name was originally because the goal is to keep the ball away from the enemies (and the ball is always kept away from your mouse cursor magnetically), but now the name seems to be a good answer to the question, "Should I play it?"

It feels good to move the ball around and the sparks and squishing really adds to it, especially when it's ricocheting around. I'm proud of that but didn't have enough time to add much besides that or playtest at all. It has a win/lose condition but it's not the win/lose condition I actually wanted to implement.

Besides the movement, I am also proud of how terrible the code is. As I started to run out of time the only thing I could think of was "Okay I know I'm supposed to do it like this," and that would end up being the only thing that would come into my head for the 2 seconds I thought about each problem.

Update 12/16/13: Cleaned the code up a bit. Original source can be found here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1556092/keepAwayld48.zip The swf is the same. I plan to work on making the gameplay fun and posting the updates to useflashpunk.net. A big thank you to that community and especially Zachary Lewis for his tutorial videos. They were a tremendous help.
