So, it's here! It's not 'done' to perfection and yes there are bugs & glitches and you could probably call it unfinished but at least I tried. Also, I only realized there was a Ludum Dare this weekend at about 8pm Saturday so I had about half the time. Anyway, enjoy a little game created in under 48 hours and good luck to others!
Surprisingly difficult for a game so short haha. The backstep/dodge move for the down arrow key I thought was a really good idea, makes dodging the enemies lasers easier. Even some randomly spawning enemies would have made the game last a bit longer but it has a lot of potential. Add rounds/levels and a hi-score and I can see it being a really good game.
Haha well my first thought about this game was: "finally, an advanced alien race with space technology that can aim!" :D ... But it was hard :( I did eventually get it, so I'm proud of myself, but I wish there was more content. Totally understand about the time limitations though, especially only having a day ish to do it. Good job!
Great stuff for a single days work! I would suggest splitting the background into multiple layers to give a sense of parallax and make it less disorientating but apart from that, a great start! would like to see more :)
