Hello! For my second ludum dare i would like you present a platform game! I make it in C/C++ with SDL Library and FMOD. For pictures i use gimp and sfx/audacity for sounds.
/////////////////////////////////////////
IMPORTANT: detection of virus on the sound managements dll of the first version. I made one without sound. And virus detection is ok. Today I do not have time but, in the week I would little make be a version with the sound to manage otherwise.
I don't understand why it do that: when i do my first LD i use the same dll and it was no problem...
I keep the first version available if you want to try with sound. //////////////////////////////////////////// Your character is a spelunker lost in a cave under the surface of the earth. What he will finds? Maybe treasure... certainly death. Help him!
Gameplay: Use arrows keys to move and jump. "l" and "k" to increase or decrease sounds volume. If you have weapon, use "d" to use it When you finish a level or kill enemies you win coins. When you will have enough monney, buy items to upgrade your character! You can bye three weapons, a jetpack and special boots to walk on the ground's traps. If you die: press "r" to retry!
I find problem in FMOD dll but without it my game have no sound, so i made and upload a version without sound. Maybe i will make a version with an other sound management but today I have no time. I don't understand why it do that, when i do my fist LD FMOD don't make problem
Couldn't judge the audio because of the virus warning thing, I had to play the no-sound version. Anyway, it's a nice start, although the platformer physics are pretty "linear", so to say. Keep up the good work, though! :)
The game worked fine for me. The game was pretty hard, because it's pretty hard to control the character. Variable jumping height would have been nice. I did really feel like I was discovery something though, so that was good :)
Well, here it is, a Spelunky game. Graphics have some unconsistencies (some have a lot of detail, some others have so little). Sound is... IDK, I miss a chiptune or something.
I had some fun with it, so I think it's fine. But dear lord, so much hazards at the ground. Gimme a break! Let me run a little more. Ahahah!
The level with the snakes is quite frustrating. Gave up after a while. But I can say that you certainly nailed the feeling of adventuring in a dangerous cave full of dangers. ;-)
That was hard! I gave up on the 3rd level because I could not get past those spikes... I think the problem is that the character was too big when compared to the tiles. Most of the time, I had trouble guessing if the hitbox was hitting the ceiling or not. That being said, I did not dislike the graphics :-) .

Also, the "trident" trap that pops out of the ground looks like a middle finger. Don't know if that was intentional, lol.
