Asteroid Absorption

by smagee
This was my first Ludum Dare.

I used C++/SFML.

This 'game' isn't really a game the only thing implemented is movement and basic collision detection, The concept of this game was supposed to be you are a sentient asteroid that can absorb other asteroids to grow bigger and then when you are big enough you absorb the earth to win the game, the only thing i managed to implement is movement and camera movement and some basic collision detection.

I did this in about 6 hours, because i wasn't prepared enough for it.

Day 1 i spent with 2 main ideas, a tetris style game and an economy simulator game, however because i haven't programmed with C++ for 5 years and have never used SFML nothing i did on Saturday worked correctly, so on day 2 i spent half of it doing tutorials on C++ and SFML and then after dinner i worked on this simple game.

I don't mind this game didn't plan out because i learned a lot this weekend and i will be more prepared for next time.

I am not rating you cause i cannot really find any astroids so i am thinking it may be me that messed up? I see my little green dot and the big red one and it doesn't matter if i go touch the red one or not (i tried both) I do not see anything else even if i move in one direction for 20 seconds. Did i miss something?

My little green planet turns blue when close to the giant red one, and I can not find any of the other asteroids

Game ran fine. Intro screen looks pretty good.
I can see you were going for an Osmos kind of vibe.
Fair effort considering you were playing with a few different ideas!
Fair distance from a playable game though.

Can't rate because game appears non-functional.
Only green blob/red blob and no other asteriods
