Hello guys! We are two 15years old game developers Usually we create adventure games, it's time for a change! Introducing to you -
Mascarpone is a tower defense game. We chose a minimalist design, with our cute music. Build kitchen-tools and place them on the map to stop the wawes of mascarpone pudings reaching the other side! Kitchen-tools can only shoot their own color of puding except for the Eggbeater. You can change kitchen-tools colors! HAVE FUN!
Your game plays well enough. I think the difficulty ramps up far too fast though. I was never able to try out the more expensive towers because I always had to build cheaper ones to stay alive.
I'm going to be perfectly honest with you. It's not the prettiest game.. But it's a crap load of fun. Seriously good job on that. Kind of like plants vs zombies but better. Good job.
Good job on this! I like it [: I Scored 27900, as I had trouble defending against the right colors, and ended up selling all my towers to afford changing color. Might need some balancing, but other than that, very well made. Sweet music too.
Doesn't look very good but it kept me playing quite some time! Very fun!
Free mode is problematic though, the openings where the enemies come in are so large, so it's very difficult to build a maze (I love building mazes) because you need to reinvest all money into upgrading your towers. Still it motivated me to try again and try to hold on one more wave!
Zorfmorf - Its minimalistic really ultra minimalistic graphics.. we can make a lot better graphics (kopula.dombee.eu) .. but thanks a a lot ! We must make some fix. x)
Even though I'm terribly bad at tower-defense-games (I even had some problems with PvZ!), and therefore didn't really get to enjoy your game's medium or hard difficulty, I had fun playing around in easy-mode.
The graphics were not that exciting but I really enjoyed your game.
@Domicuc I think the part about graphics came on more harsh than it should. I'm not a fan of the visuals them but that doesnt effect the gameplay which is fun!. I'm actually still playing!
I always love a good tower defense game, great work! Loved the choice of setting too, I found that interesting.
It was a bit confusing at times, got to these Red things that I couldn't hit and I wasn't really sure why. Presumably something to do with enemy types?

A nicely done game. Keep up the good work. Consider making change the colors of the tower free. The mechanic itself already adds an extra layer of complexity to the game, so by making it cost money your actually penalising the player. Once I lost because I had finished building towers to prevent an invasion, and the next turn the whole wave was a different color (meaning I needed 100+ just to keep up). One thing you might consider is making "change color" free, but make enemy waves with mixed colours (forcing the player to either micro manage their colours or have a good distribution among colours in a wave). If you do so, consider ramping up the difficulty slowly, by having wave 1 2 in blue, 3 4 in red, 5 in blue with 1-3 enemies in red, 6 with half half and only introduce the 3rd colour later. When you introduce a new color, make that whole wave that color. If you decide to enter in a next LD, try to get a designer.
Really deep tower defense! Nice relaxing music too. The first time enemies changed color I got completely destroyed...should have read the instructions : D haha

I think the base game is definitely there to build upon, and you could make it pretty good. I didn't like the music and I don't understand why you could manually send in wave after wave, instead of it being automatic.
I found that as soon as the red ones came in I lost. The cost of changing the towers to red meant I had no money coming in for buying a stronger tower.
Quite neat! It wasn't obvious where the wave was first coming from so I had to guess where to put my first turrets which was kinda sad, but it's obvious you put a bunch of effort into the game. Good job!
Nicely done, I'm amazed that you were able to put a fully fledged tower defense in such time! I had a little trouble with colors, by the time I realized I could change my tower's colors, it was too late :(
The game is good and reminds me a bit of Desktop Tower Defense. I initially thought enemies went down the screen because the towers pointed up and there was a white box on the bottom. The text on the bottom could be a little darker to contrast the light background.
Great tower defence. This proves once again that good gameplay doesn't need that fancy graphics :) . I prefered path mode over the free mode. I didn't really know how to optimise my turrets in free mode.
Also amazing that you can make games so young! Good Job!

Pretty entertaining and the sounds are really well done. What I would suggest is warning the player when the first different-colored wave comes in, it devastated me on the first play.
Simple but good tower defense, classical but well done. It's just sad that the cooking theme was not really used, the words are here but it's still square and dot. But thats a really great idea to make a tower defense cooking game. Could really be a good game.
Pretty nice game! I have found bug though: if you press next wave the turrets won't attack the next wave's enemies, they will only finish the lst wave's enemies and will stop
Nice tower defense game :D Would like to see more detail on the entities, seeing as the interface was really well done and clean. Awesome music, really cheerful but not as long as I hoped. overall, nice entry! :)
This was nice, i had great time, its fun, funny, audio is great. Switching colors really messed me up :) Makes the game really challenging. Awesome what you did in 72 hours. Great job.
Nice game, and nice music. I lost because I didn't have money to change towers when the ennemies turned red. Maybe you should warn about that (or maybe you do and I missed it ;) Great work anyway !
GREAT GAME! I lost myself playing that game for probably over a hour XD Could use a shortcut to change all tower's color's in 1 click, as well as a warning to which color is coming next down on the bar(They all look like blue down there) the bosses are unbeatable basically and need their hp cut in half if not more than that. Graphics could use upgrading. A description of the towers at lv1 would be nice before planting the tower down. As your placing a tower it'd be nice to see its range while placing before set in place.
Ha, brilliant. Didn't expect that much from an 48h TD game, but you really nailed it. Differently behaving tower types, reasonable upgrades, a good GUI, hotkeys, decent balancing, a boss wave in the end and even a free mode that seems to include pathfinding? (Never made it past wave 2 there, so can't really tell) Very good effort, and you're only 15?! :)
Yay Tower Defense! I once ran a campaign (a couple of LD's ago) to try and get as many people as possible to make a TD game no matter what the theme was going to be, so I'm always excited to see them :)
I dig the title, the art is good - and a smart way to go for a time-limited jam!- and just the amount of content you managed to get in here is impressive, kudos to you!
It's definitely hard but TD games are always going to be tricky to balance, especially in such a short amount of time. All in all: Great entry!
Really fun tower defense! I especially liked the idea of having to change up your strategy to accommodate different enemy colors. In practice, though, preparing for the red puddings proved difficult: for one thing, I had no idea they were coming the first time, and they sailed past my blue spoons while I was trying to figure out how to change their color.
I was "ready" for them the second time, but soon discovered that you couldn't build a red tower right off the bat (I think?), you had to build a blue one and change its color.
Still, with some more work and playtesting on this I think you've got a really fun game!

Some further visual feedback (a key to press, while facing a wave, that could tell you how far your "turrets" reach goes, to name one).

By the way, on the levels with the red things, why aren't any of my towers firing?
