Input: Mouse left clicks only.

You have to remember the path, which is color coded (blue to green) and connected with lines and click the hexagon fields in the right order.

My goal was to create a hexagon based game. In the end I completed this small mental exercise game with a highscore system (thanks to Gamejolts' API), a hint system and over 100.000 levels.

One Hundred Thousand Levels?! Well, yes. This game design allowed me to just run some traversing algorithm over my hexagon grid data structure and get a variety of possible paths from a start point to an end point. I saved those as Scriptable Objects in Unity and load them in at runtime to get a random data set for grid dimensions and the path.

I also experimented with procedural mesh generation in Unity and after some trouble it worked pretty well. The game generates its hexagon-meshes procedurally with options to hexagon size, columns and rows. An important source of mathematical background was http://www.redblobgames.com/grids/hexagons/

Overall it was a great weekend with more spare time than I thought. In the end, I put around 15 hours in this project (lots were wasted in music and graphics, that I didn't use in the end. I am horrible in those departments).

Other sources I used: iTween (free on the asset store), UnityVS (free Visual Studio Plugin for Unity), GaneJoltAPI for Unity (free), Unity Scripting Docs.

Software I used: Unity 4.6 + VS2013; Pyxel; Paint.net; SFXR; Audacity

I'd love to hear your feedback.

A simple concept that's well executed. Also adding the high scores is impressive for a LD game. Try to knock me off the top of the Hard mode people!

haha, yeah... I'm no graphics guy, so this snowman is the best you will get from me in terms of graphics ;P

Simple enough it looks at first - but actually rather difficult at times. Nice memory game!

cool puzzle game, the hard mode will have more doable (without to many retry) if the time until the path disappear was a bit longer. Other than that very good

This reminds me of the Lumosity games. Hard is pretty hard, but fun. Nice game!

A bit hard to understand the path when it is shown... makes the game even harder than it is on hard mode :) nice one!

Fun! Tougher than it looks. Some of the sounds were better than others—the level start sound got on my nerves after a while and the “you won” sound is kind of harsh, but the “you failed” sound and the note progression as you build up a correct chain were much better. Nicely done.

Hi there. Nice look, always liked hexagons... Nice pastels, and a snowman! Appropriate sounds. Good job!

Nice! Interesting take on the memory game genre. I sucked at it. ;)

Impressive that you got high scores in. Great job!

The high score system helped keep me compelled to keep at it for a good while. The sound effects work really well for this, and I liked the miss visual/sound effects combo quite a bit, too. Nicely done!
