Robert's Run is a game where you play as a robot named Robert who's running down a tube, avoiding obstacles, and eating hamburgers. To keep with the the theme, the perspective goes off into infinitely, but stays on the screen. So, the entire game is on one screen. There are unlimited levels, and they are randomly generated
The game was made in Unity with the Lux plugin for Physically Based Shading, all 3D assets were made in Blender, the music and sound effects were made in FL Studio with ymVST, and textures were made and edited in Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
The controls are [a] or left arrow to go left and [d] or right arrow to go right. You get points from running, extra for running diagonal, collecting the hamburgers and you get points for the amount of hamburgers you have at the end of the stage. Please tell me your high score, and if you got past level 10.
This is a great game. It fits the theme well, graphics are fluid, controls well. I like how there is infinite play and it has a good difficulty curve.
The structures of the obstacles are quite recognisable, so it doesn't seem as generated as it could. When moving at fast speeds, white gaps appear between the tiles. Sometimes hamburgers appear in hard to reach places :(
30,726. I love how he turns and waves looking so happy after each level. The only problem was hamburgers that kept spawning too close to dodge the obstacles after them. I think they're fine where they are, you should just be invincible during that little sprint after picking on up.
This was a a lot of fun and I really liked the art style (though the hamburgers were kind of incongruous). One thing I'd've liked to see would be more variety in the types of obstacles... maybe something you had to jump to avoid? Regardless, nice work!
Sonic 2 Special Stage! Loved the art. It was pretty fun, but it started to get a little repetitive and easy after a little bit. Maybe increasing the speed over time would add some more challenge?
