Spin on the idea of space invaders but presented as a platformer. This was really just a way of pushing my tech so its not an amazing game, though I did acomplish my goals with it.
I have uploaded a Linux build requireing SDL2, may port to windows later, I dont expect many votes.
Tricky controls, since I was expecting traditional platformer controls. Also spotted some bugs where the things don't get nommed :( Got to about 18 then fell off :( Nice clean looking game though :)
Yeah, the controls are really hard to get used to. The spacecraft shooting green lasers is pretty cool, and the scrolling space-invaders background is a cool effect :)
It sometimes doesn't eat all the collectables and the jumping feels weird. But otherwise great you learned something and accomplished your goals. Spend some more time on it and it can get really funny (faster gameplay, 8bit music, better jumping funcionality, ...)
