A mashup of brick breaker and space invaders with the ball as the unconventional weapon.
Sadly, the game is a tad buggy (nothing game ending though) and the sounds can suddenly stop working because this is the first time i'm using a sound extension. Anyway, hope you like it!
This is fun, feels like a real game already, and looks very retro. The bullets were hard to see though, they blended with the other background effects. I did have the sound die on me indeed :) Good job overall.
The upgrade that draws the path of the ball gives you an idea of what its going to hit and where its going to be. Since the angle the ball bounces when it hits the paddle is determined by faulty physics (the nearer the edge of the, the more angular the shot) and not real physics, the line gives you an idea where you should position the paddle.
Very cool idea! You perfectly captured the arcade aesthetic, but as with the original breakout it feels like pot luck as to if/when you'll hit something.
Interestingly the addition of bullets means there's some situations where it's impossible to hit the ball without being shot.
It would be great to see this expanded further, with a proper soundtrack and pulsing visuals (something like Space Invaders Infinity Gene could really work here)
