Crushing Doubt

This game is from the old Ludum Dare platform. You can try viewing the original page on Web Archive
(may not load correctly).
A little something for our first game.

Clearly we ran out of time before we could finish what we were working on. Assets and ideas had to remain unused.

But we're proud of it for what it is.

For a slightly updated/bugfixed version, and thus for the best experience, please use the web link.

-Objective-

You are a god and you are bored. Crush your followers with a huge rock for your own amusement. The more you get the better.

-Instructions-

Please read this part carefully and come back to it if you're left wondering what to do. Unfortunately there aren't any in-game instructions (time constraints), so this'll have to suffice:

Use your mouse for everything. Touch controls are implemented but untested.

Collect devotion (your currency) by building more followers. Reconvert doubters (the guys that are not walking), who are trying to ruin your name, by clicking on them. Don't let them fill up the doubt gauge.

Buy a rock with your devotion and unleash it with a right click.

To keep your little lemmings from moving out of view (which will kill them), drag and drop the tree to block their path. This will become harder the more followers you've spawned.

The secret to a high score is in not letting things get out of hand and knowing when to spawn the rock and drop it.

-Credits-

Visuals: N. Tisdell (aka WizemanTheWicked)

Everything else: J. Everts (aka Fjalar)

Two sound effects were made using samples from soundbible.com, the rest were recorded in-house.

The music is a variation on "Hungarian Dance No. 5" by Johannes Brahms, made in-house as well.
