As rooms in two skyscrapers seem to suffer from spontaneous combustion, only you, the ice cream truck driver, can save these poor souls from a fiery end.
First Ludum Dare in a year, and even though I had extremly little time, I managed to get something out. Would have loved to work a lot more on this as it feels very rough and buggy in some areas, but the time limit loomed over my head before I even had game over conditions coded.
HOW TO PLAY: Mouse to drop delicious ice cream. Space to swap flavors. Extinguish fire by creating a row of three same ice creams next to it. (Direction matters.) Don't let the bar below burning windows run empty.
The development team highly recommends eating ice cream and/or discussing your favorite flavors while playing.
The game took a long time to load and just showed me a blank white screen so I didn't even realize it was loading. When it did load and I was able to get a match-3, the game froze.
interesting concept, would have liked to see it developed further but appreciate that you ran out of time. it seemed like the time between people on fire appearing was scripted (?) rather than responding to how long it took to put people out, so second time i played, after i put out the first guy, nothing happened. also i found it a bit hard to see sometimes what colour i was going to drop, and i agree with the commentor who said it would be good to put them sideways rather than just vertical. but i found it fun for a bit and a very novel take on match-3 - a nice proof of concept, which i'm sure would be great with further development.
Cool game, I really liked the sound effects in it. I don't know if this is intentional or a bug, but when there was a fire on the left building (like 5 floors up or something), I made a chocolate row that drew a line through him, but didn't put out the fire, which caught me by surprise. Cool game, nonetheless!
The randomness of the types of ice cream you could get sometimes made this a little hard, though. Or im terrible at match-3!
