Paint Can Kill is a 4-player multiplayer game about cats, brushes and paint. In teams of two, the players try to paint each other with their respective colors. If a cat is painted in two complimentary colors, the cat disappears and has to be called back by their team mate touching a red cone. If the other team mate also disappears, that team lost and the opposing team wins. Also: Enemy paint can be canceled out by team mate paint!

The game was made in 48 hours using Unity.

EDIT: ATTENTION! This game is multi-player only. You need at least 4 people connected to the game in order to play.

Tried to play, but was stuck waiting on 'waiting for player` screen.

I'm afraid it's a multiplayer-only game. You HAVE to have 4 players in the same room in order to play.

looks like fun

It looks like it would be fun if we could play without others!

Am afraid I can't get this to work. You say we need to have 4 players in the same room, connected. Any additional information on this? Can't rate the game without a way to play properly sadly.

4 Players? Oof. Is there even a server?
toominauthor20 Apr 2015, 03:27
There's a button on the second screen, after you press "Start", that says "Start Server". If no other buttons are visible, you click that to open a room that others can join by pressing the button that appears under "Start Server" on their screen, which says "Room Name" and then a big string of jibberish. Once three more people in addition to the person that opened the room join, the game begins automatically.

By connected you mean i need 4 computers in same LAN network? (Hamachi etc.) If that ill try to find 3 people!
toominauthor20 Apr 2015, 03:54
Nope, no Hamachi or LAN needed, just 4 people playing the game at the same time, with an internet connection (it's running over a Photon server). It can be anybody from anywhere, though of course the farther the computer the greater the lag.

It was fun. Luckily I use windows, but really since it's made with Unity, you should probably just build it for the other platforms, as well.

The controls were good, for the most part, and the mechanics were pretty interesting. Good job!

It's possible to try this game on a single computer by starting 4 instances of the game. ;)

Could you make a single-player or at least 2 players "mod" so we can test it? The art style looks pretty nice, it's a pity not to be able to try it!

Looks like it has potential based only on the screenshots. You might want to consider a single player game for the next Ludum Dare. Multiplayer makes things difficult to try out.

Sorry, this multiplayer concept doesn't work for jams!

Would love to try it, hard to find 4 people to play

Don't have people to play with, but I must say, I instantly thought of Splatoon haha.
