Pollute 'Em Up

This game is from the old Ludum Dare platform. You can try viewing the original page on Web Archive
(may not load correctly).
In a world where superpowers cannot afford conventional warfare, states still compete for supremacy. Your task, as the leader of North America, is to subvert the fast-growing Asian powers.

Your weapons? Not tanks, jets, or ships; you must be more subtle. Your weapon is the climate. You can pollute the world by supporting domestic industry or gifting oil to other nations that will use it carelessly. You also can support or gift technology, which reduces the receiver's CO2 output. If you support your own industry, you will have larger gifts in later turns.

Be careful. The winds and climate can spread pollution across regions, and it is easier to destroy yourself than the enemy.

Tips: the buttons on the left only affect North America; they are domestic policies. The two buttons on the right are for foreign nations. Press either button, then click the nation that will receive the gift.

Each round of the game lasts 1 second, and you can use up to 2 commands per round.

Nations will be green when cool, yellow when warming, and red when devastated.
