Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum, I smell the blood of an Englishman -- only this time you get revenge. You are the giant.

ARROW KEYS, X TO JUMP

Try to squash Jack and his clones before they steal your treasure. They are fast and sneaky. You die if you fall off the beanstalks they plant.

I am submitting this at 8:24 p.m., might update to make sure something didn't break during upload, but will not change source code after 9 p.m. I will try to minify to make more efficient, but the github source is not minified.

I updated my repository during the competition, so it is possible to revert back and see the evolution from right after we discovered the theme.

@puzzud - Cool that you noticed the similarity, but the game does not use the Below the Root graphics, just the same 8x8 tile sizes, and Commodore 64 limited colour palette. Both characters, the house and all the treasures are completely original. Read about and see the evolution of the graphics on my blog: http://blog.stahlmandesign.com/ludum-dare-33-live-blog-of-compo-ld33-ldjam/

Or download the source from github and see how it evolved every few hours. I went out of my way to follow the rules.

On the other hand, read about the work I have done on Below The Root, and the game I have made using the BTR sprite sheet, with the blessing of the original artist: http://blog.stahlmandesign.com/below-the-root-a-story-a-computer-game-and-my-lifelong-obsession/
