Premise:
This is a world war 1 game. There are british and Germans. Their objective is to take the opposing trench. You and your friend are the commanders.
How to play:
Britain plays with the mouse, Germany with the keyboard. Click the buttons to put out units or to switch sound on and off. The controls are
- ANZACs/Sturmtruppen : Quicker than BEF, but more expensive(1st button for britain, 2 for germany, 100 points)
- BEF/Landwehr : Basic unit, slow but plentiful (2nd button for britain, 1 for germany, 50 points)
- Artillery : call in some shells on the enemy position (3rd button for britain, 3 for germany, 150 points)
- Gas : shell with gas clouds across the enemy frontline ! (4th button for britain, 4 for germany, 200 points)
- Escape exits during and after the game
Audio on and off should be clear
Once 10 soldiers have crossed the a side, the other side wins. But was it really worth it?
Still not working on my win 8 :( Damn it, I liked your gameplay video. Looking at the battlefield in the end, and all those corpses lying around, I shed a tear for all the fallen. WW1, never forget!
No joy here (Win7 64-bit), sorry. Tried probably a dozen times. Crashes after opening both the console window and what'd probably be the graphics window. No exception or anything, but "problem details" includes "Fault Module Name: SDL2.dll" if that helps.
Advice to just keep trying a game called futility is amusing though ;)
The voice acting was pretty fun and the black/white mixed with red blood looks really good! Some of the sound effects were a bit too loud though, like the artillery.
Interesting idea anyway, there should definitely be more games made about the first world war.
On Win8 Pro works fine. Very fun game, I like it! + for soldier sounds

IT worked fine for me on windows 8 (x64). At first i didn't know what was going on, but... this is really an harsh war scene. I found it a little sketchy and surely won't win any prize but still was fun to click a few times.
Interesting entry. Overall I liked it, but found the link to the theme a little weak. I do agree that you can associate war with monsters. However, in this game, both sides seem to be monsters and it starts to blur where the theme plays in.
I like strategy games and this one had a lot of fine details (units, attacks, audio). Very nice.
