In response to the comments, this update adds keyboard controls to the game ! + a few tweaks on AI / HUD elements.
Keyboard controls : MOVE = WASD JUMP = space PLANT SEED = X

You play ATEEK, the feared nosy destructor of worlds up for another rampage. Plant evil seeds in the ground to suck up life from planets.
Will the furballs manage to get rid of you?
The game requires a gamepad.
JUMP : A PLANT SEED : X
Seeds are randomly dropped by ennemies when they die. Plant the seed into the little brown heap to grow a root and kill the planet.
The game was made with Unity and Illustrator for the most part. No time for music and SFX but we'll make it right next time! First Ludum Dare for the two of us, no sleep, boiling brains, but a lot of fun!
The game looks good! However, I could not plant a seed at all, no button on my gamepad would perform it, and none on my keyboard either.. So I couldnt play it for long sadly. :c
Good game! I liked the circular worlds and the art style. I didn't realize at first that the circles orbiting me weren't the seeds, and then it took a bit before I figured out you could jump to the next planet... and I died a lot. Nice work!
Had to dig out a gamepad to play (seriously, add some keyboard controls though). Even with a gamepad, the controls (mainly moving around) were a bit confusing. I think it would be better if it was just move left/right instead of moving the analog stick in the direction of the part of the planet you want to go? See, it's so confusing I can't even explain it. Also a bit annoying that you can't jump on the enemies when they're spinning up (I lost a lot of health that way). Also it took a lot of random jumping before I found out that there were actually other planets I could go to.
I like the idea of the game but the lack of keyboard controls almost killed it for me. Luckily I had a gamepad lying around to test this game out X(. The controls were confusing at first because of the planet's orientation but you can get used to it which is cool. imo there should be a better indicator on when the planet is dead and how to go to another planet (Maybe deactivate the cute little puffball spawns when all seed are planted as well, can be a way to tell players that there isn't anything left to do on this planet anymore).
I really like the boss at the end lol, it totally freaked me out. The combat was good, although I had died a couple of times because the puffballs decided to spike the second I land on them. Overall, I liked this game, I was able to finish it as well :D
We thought that left/right keyboard controls were not enough intuitive for 360° movement. However, we took your comments into consideration and I am currently working on adding keyboard controls. Update should be there very soon, so stay tuned !
Yay, a game with gamepad support, +1 for that! I had to read the comments here to understand how the game works, though: I thought the five orbs were seeds, and I couldn't figure out how to kill enemies (sometimes I still get hurt when I jump on them). Plus I once got stuck in space when jumping up from the first planet.
BUT, there's a lot to love about this game too :) I enjoyed the circular worlds and found the controls intuitive enough on a gamepad, and the animation when planting a seed is really well-done!
Couldnt figure out how to play at first, took me a while to realise that you jump on enemies to get seeds (other people obviously having the same problem) after that the gameplay got a lil stale. But overall good jam, great work
