Made from scratch within 72 hours this is our first entry to Ludum Dare: a Monster Hugging Simulator!
The story is that like anyone else even a Monster needs some love and affection... or else they get a heart attack! Our protagonist needs human hugs to cure his condition even though he's a monster and it's hard for him by nature to always express his feelings towards them clearly. Fortunately for him there's a halloween constume party nearby this evening...
While being pretty hard as I never programmed anything like it before and I had to first think about how to approach anything I wanted to do instead of just doing it I had a blast and I think in the end it turned out pretty amazing. Unfortunately time was running out before we could add any sounds and I hope I'll be able to add them later on and we will just not being judged in that category.

Can say it's bound to be a great game with lives-regen system and the hugging mechanism (but I'm the one that almost getting the heart attack after seeing the monster going berserk)
Very well done, I liked the drawings a lot ! The idea of the game is simple but rather fun. It's a bit too easy for me I think, I had to stop pressing the arrows to see what would happen when you lose hearts. It would have been better with some sounds too
I definitely liked the graphics. Adding sound would add a ton to the game, especially little sound effects as you play. I think adding some element of progression or some end goal would improve the game even further. I got up around the 500k pts range and felt like there wasn't much left to do at that point. Nice work!

I don't know if that's specific to GameMaker, but having to install the game before playing it is a little annoying.
