This year for LD I was away from home, but I had a bunch of paper some pens and dice with me, so I decided to make some board game this time.
----------------------------------------------------------
This is a single player dungeon building game where you need to prevent adventurers (heroes) from killing you (the local evil lord) because you are summoning your master that will wipe everyone.
Each turn a new hero comes and over time they become more and more powerful.
If heroes find your non-empty treasure room before they might leave you alone, but they surely will come back next turn.
The game ends if heroes manage to kill you or if you survive for 9 turns.
----------------------------------------------------------
You can print monsters / minions deck twice to get more monsters.
Anyway it was really fun making and play testing it, and I hope it will be fun playing.
The games scope turned out to be too big for the time I had, but I'm still happy with what I was able to make in that amount of time.
Didn't have a lot of time to balance the game
On design:
I tried to make 3 different races with some special gimmicks to build combos around,
Races:
Demons - Weak but are powerful in numbers buffing each other heavily.
Undead - mediocre in hp but tough and abilities allow to heal / increase hp.
Humans - have good hp and attack but lose some attack if are close to undead or demons.
And also added cards with special effects for boss monsters - like the one that allows you to heal any of your minions for N hp if you also pay N.
Some interesting design
- building rooms give spots to place monsters but it doesn't effect heroes by themselves
- give buildings that add more different abilities that you can do on your turn if you've built them.
- rooms that get bonuses for the other buildings around is also fun I think
minions that give bonuses to another minions
P.S. Sorry for the poor lighting on the photos, I'm currently not at home so it is what I have.
