You have to scare him and make him cry! But beware, you're the kind of monster that vanishes when you're seen by an adult... And mom's come back if the kid is crying out loud...
Gamplay is like a FPS -> move the mouse to look around, move with WASD (no remap requied)
Press E to scare the boy.
Set your graphics in the dialog that show up the first time you launch it.
Written in C++ using Ogre; Bullet, OpenAL, libSNDfile and BtOgre
Good concept! Although once you know what to do it's impossible to lose, you just repeat the same actions over and over. Maybe make the mother come faster the more times you scare the boy or something
TheRuseman, thank you! The mother comes actually a bit faster each time, but not by much. Didn't had time to do really playtesting and it may just bug...
fore more presision, The 2 humans are generated with MakeHuman; I onely modeled the environement by hand.
The textures are done with a software called mapzone2. It's procedural generation. It's old (2007 vintage). Maybe you can still find it on the internet...
@Nichii Thanks! I can't wait for the next compo... I don't feel like I made a "real" game this time. But know I know how the LD works, how the themes are chousen and I have a better idea of what it takes to do something like that in 48h...
I had a good laugh at the crying sound-effect. There were also a couple times I got caught when I was in the back of the closet (pretty sure out of sight).
anabitraymustache It's a synt with somme shitty modulation, the wave duplicated in audacity + a little time-shift to add some weird doppler effect. It was better than recording my onw voice then trying to picth it up and make it childish...
