Capitalist FM is a pseudo-game about hostile takeovers of radio broadcasting companies-- you will be directly competing against all other players.
Each player runs a "radio station," with songs selected from YouTube (starting with a limit of 5).
As your station gains listeners (actual other users) you can increase your song count. Once your station's listener count is higher than a competitor's, and you have room for enough songs, you may forcibly absorb a competitor's station and gain their songs. Consider it a mashup of Agar.IO and Pandora.
All the while, you are encouraged to subscribe and listen to all your competitor's stations.
Whoever has the most listeners by the end of judging period wins!

The song loading is a little bit buggy but should work if you don't mash the play button repeatedly- give it a small bit of time to load.
I get a connection time out when attempting to download it from the link above. That said, this certainly looks like an interesting take on the theme...
Believe it or not my server's power plug was one that was toggled by the light switch. When I left the room I turned the light off and the server died instantly. Should be back and running now. Sorry for all the problems folks!
I'm not sure why it's not working now; My server seems to be up and it's running fine on at least 2 computers at my house. I'll check in on it. Thanks for the comments!
Sounds like a cool idea, but sadly can't get this working. I'm on Windows 8.1 if this means anything. This feels like a concept you'd want to expand on outside of the Jam, sounds pretty damn ambitious for an LD entry, especially with the PvP element.
Really cool idea! It may be too ambitious for a Ludum Dare game - but I was able to get it working in Windows 8.1, and will keep tabs and give a proper rating as my playthough progresses.
Alright, I migrated my client to dropbox and updated youtube-dl so this SHOULD be 100% true and honest functional. Knowing my code though it probably isn't. Good luck!
OMG idea is fresh and brilliant :) God, it's first time i play as a radio station :) Amazing idea, hope you will polish it to nice graphics / mechanics and hope see you on IGF with it :)
Thank you guys all for the comments but with all the technical problems and votes streaming in from people who didn't even play, I just decided to throw in the towel on this Ludum. Someday I might expand this game into a proper program or game.

What it's a pity, cause the idea is good and I wanted to try it.

Take your time, polish this idea, it may be something great later.
