Known Bugs:
An error will sometimes occur when you try to destroy a building or farm. I know what is causing it, but I won't fix it until after the competition. I have, however, uploaded a version that will let you keep playing after the error occurs.
Controls:
Left-click = give
Right-click = take
Space/Esc = open menu
If you're playing on the LD page, it is best to hit both fullscreen buttons. That way your space bar won't be interfering with the webpage.
Give and Take is a god game where the player is restricted to only two actions, giving and taking. When the player takes something from the world they must give it back before they can take something else.
I had this idea during a past LD, but the theme never matched it very well. With the dual theme this time, I thought it would be perfect. Not only are there only two actions in the game, there is an element of growth as well.
I like the idea of games with very few rules creating a lot of complexity. While this game has a lot of stuff going on, the underlying mechanics are easy to grasp.
There is a guide in game that has some information on the kinds of tiles and objects, but it is not complete. I thought it would be nice to leave a lot of discovery for the player.

Factions of people that war with each other
individual animal species
weather
Due to the large variety of possible worlds I thought it would be cool for people to share screenshots of their worlds. If you share a screenshot on twitter with #GiveandTakeLD, then I will try to respond with a heartfelt thank you.
