Ludum Dare #34compo
Towering Smash
BUG NOTE: There's an unresolved bug in the WebGL version where, after the first GAME OVER screen, enemies won't start automatically on subsequent plays. You must press left or right once to get the enemies to start spawning. Sorry!
A simple game to smash your enemies and grow to gigantic size! Controls are:
1. Left/right arrow to attack enemies on your left or right.
2. Left+right arrow to grow (once you have enough power).
3. The blue and orange blocks will light up when you are in range of an enemy.
Some basic rules:
1. Enemies also grow!
2. If you get hit by a larger enemy, you will die.
3. If you are hit by a smaller or same sized enemy, you will shrink.
4. Large enemies take 3 hits, same sized take 2 hits, and smaller take 1 hit.

Geez the core mechanic is just SO good! Good job on this one!

Enjoyable prototype. I love the action of slashing left and right to take down enemies. I also enjoy the elements of strategy required to succeed-- a balance between the need to grow and the need to be ready to attack new enemies, and the need to time well, since there's a limited window between when an enemy can be attacked, and when the enemy attacks you. The art is clearly lacking, and some nice sprites and animations would only enhance an already fun game.

Fun core mechanic.

I really liked this, a growing animation would have been very cool.
