============= Concept =============
Racing game where you can race the world’s best time saved on our server and tune your mammoth. You get a new tuning part every time you cross the finish line untill you have unlocked everything. This represents our version of possible ancient racing and transportation.
You can also select from three different mammoth types. Every mammoth type has its own parameters which determine how fast it can go (Top speed), how fast it accelerates (Acceleration), how sharp it turns (Handling) and how effective is its stopping power (Braking). Each tuning part modifies these stats and therefore you can have the most awesome mammoth that ever walked the face of the earth.
Be sure to enter your nickname because we plan to have a leadderboard and announce the fastest racer on our twitter @lonelyvertex on September 14. If you want, you can insert your twitter name in a format “@your_twitter_name” and we will mention you in the winner announcing tweet.
Also we will be happy if you tweet us a screenshot of your mammoth, praise or a bug.

============= 72 sleepless hours =============
This is the first time that our whole team colaborated and conducted a group sleepover. We were pleasantly surprised, how much we accomplished. Although the most rewarding part is that we know what we are lacking and what we should work on.
This was a lot of fun! Customization unlockables are a great incentive to keep people playing. Unlocked all of the parts, hoping I was going to unlock other levels, but I couldn't seem to select anything but the first one on the map.I'm assuming they were planned but cut due to time? Anyways, the UI is great, and the customization is really well done!
Nice job on the game. Mammoth race it's a really interesting idea. I liked this 3d low poly style. I would like to note good gontrol but sometitems I don't understand where to go. Way points on the road would be a good solution for solve this. I would also like to add some opponents in the game. I hope you will upgrade your game in the future. It deserves it.
That was such a good game. Kept playing and was compelled to get the best time and unlock parts. But, oh, I wish there was more levels. I kept playing trying to get the best time to maybe unlock a level. But, was sadly mistaken. Than i read the above comment.
The game is good and fun, the controls are simple, this is a good idea. It's true that mammouth were a sort of technology :') Maybe you should add a music with some percussions, to give a better rythm to the race. I liked a lot the customization part, but I couldnt unlock all of these. Keep creating games !
awesome game!, i love the artistic style, the animation a bit stiff and control a bit finicky but its ok very well design level, with upgradable ride is nice additional content

This game was a lot of fun. It is really very complete and actually amazing what you have done in this short time.
nice game, and I love the idea of caveman riding mammoth x). on the other side, damn we need some heavy metal during the race! :p graphics are fine and undertandable but the path to follow is not always clear and maybe the grass could be more dense. control are clear, but maybe it miss some thing like drift. otherwise, it's a great job you did here :)
This is great, but I'm confused. How do you beat a level again? Can't seem to find any time to beat (just the world record)? I just kept playing the same level over and over, unlocking new parts and upgrading the mammoth, but I couldn't get to teh next level. Still, very impressive for the time frame!
This is a pretty neat idea, I would go for something like a saber tooth cat but the mammoth does add a touch of comedy, and you already had a site up and running too!
The controls feel a bit strange at first, but I totally understand that this is not a car but a mammoth.
Collision detection is a bit buggy sometimes. Like it's possible to be stuck at a little corner with the game considering that we are still at full speed. So after turning around to go back on track the mammoth goes from static to full speed. Quite surprising at first.
Art and track design is pretty simple but very polished.
Even if I still don't really understand why sometimes I unlock parts or how to unlock next track, it makes me very happy to fine tune my mammoth to perfection and try to beat my own record.

The game is really nice and fun. I really like it. The mammoth "parts" look different and have meaningful gameplay impact. Really sweet. I would have liked a little more vivid colors, but that's subjective. Never the less, the whole lot decoration and polish is amazing, particularly for 72h.
I just have the feeling that the hitbox for the "braking grass" is too large. Much too large in some turns.

Probably my favorite game of this Ludum Dare, I need more immediately. I used to have hopes and dreams, a vision of a bright future; now I hold the world record of 44.07 and I realize that Mammoth for Speed IS that bright future I had envisined. I now know my calling in life: racing mammoths.
Very polished game. Love the upgrade feature. I've even managed to break the worlkd record - mine is 43.08. Although I don't think that it will last long :)

Absolutely adore the art style, quite an amusing concept and interpretation of the theme, very cute. Now I just need more levels and to get that world record!
Loved the choppy graphics. The game is hilarious and well polished enough for a Ludum Dare game. I also live the menu transitions at the start of the game. Could do with a background music (most racing games keep you speeding by adding some upbeat music in the background)

I'm not ashamed to say that I got addicted and subjected our twitch stream to around 20+ minutes of trying to beat the high score. Upsettingly I only got close, but considering how much I played it I'd definitely say it was a success.
If it had background music, I'd say it would be perfect. The customization options were my favourite too.

The camera on turns could be improved and turning the mammoth made more smooth, but that's just minor for such complete game. :)
And the game looks so solid and polished.
