MummyDrop

MummyDrop

This game is from the old Ludum Dare platform. You can try viewing the original page on Web Archive
(may not load correctly).
-----

IMPORTANT NOTE: The web version of this game has been tested for Chrome and Firefox, but there were some minor issues, including a weird positioning issue with how HTML5 handles physics (if mummies aren't sliding down smooth slopes, this is the reason). If you have any of these issues, please download the Windows binary for the smoothest experience!

MummyDrop was made by Evan Good for LD 36: "Ancient Technology". This is my fifth LD entry. Ancient Technology seemed like a pretty wide-open theme, but as I'm sure many people did, I immediately started thinking about Ancient Egypt and wanted to dream up some fantasy machinery for that era. As for the game type, I had a memory of a similar "peg" game that I built out of wooden dowels and ping pong balls with my brother when I was young. From Plinko to Peggle, I've always liked those sorts of games, so I decided to fit a new one into the theme!.. In as silly of a way as I could come up with.

MummyDrop was developed using the following tools/resources:

GameMaker Studio Pro 1.4 (with HTML5 export)

BFXR sound generator

Audacity audio editor

MSPaint (for that professional touch)

No pre-existing art, code, or assets were used.

Game features no Egyptian-based puns. They're b'Neith me.

Thanks for playing and congrats to all the other entries!
