Unfortunate Archeologist's Adventure

This game is from the old Ludum Dare platform. You can try viewing the original page on Web Archive

A young miner was in this cave, working hard to get his pay, progressing foot by foot. He rose his pickaxe, and landed a mighty blow, making the ground collapse.

Some times later, he get up and saw his broken pick' and the hole way too high above him. What he couldn't know was that he just fell into an old civilisation temple, and so he went forward, hearing strange mechanism noises.

Hey everyone ! So this is our try for the jam, hope you'll like it. With the theme "Ancient technology" as we got not that much experience, we tried to think in two ways : how to link the theme with the gameplay, and how to make the background coherent with those two.

So we though that gameplay will stick to the "technology" idea, with dungeons starring tools and technologies to use to finish the levels, inspired by some Zelda's design, and the "Ancient" part will be hold by lore, as the lovers of space opera we are, with an ancient civilization lost in time, kind of Stargate thing.

Our game is (or try to be) a platformer with an enigma component, as the player will have to think and use technological tools to finish levels, each level showing a main mechanic. Yet, as I said, we're beginners, so we made only the first one in release, although we had ideas for the two next.

We had a lot of fun, problems, experience, arguments, and pride making this. Do not hesitate to criticize our work so we can improve, and I hope you'll enjoy. Have a nice day and see you probably at next Ludum Dare !
