my first jam ever, had my expectations too hight and thought I could finish it in time and as the clock ticked I realized I am not as fast of a programmer as I thought I am, I had to quickly program even if its badly to finish in time. Hopefully I will learn from my mistakes for the next jam!

Thats what jams are all about- learning from your mistakes! I wouldnt call your programming bad- Dont be too hard on yourself. This is a hard challenge! Keep at it and dont run yourself down :)
