Imagine a world where you work a nine to five job and live in a one room apartment. DUN DUN DUN
...actually that's not that abnormal
but either way that's where this game takes place.
You are a person who recently got out of college and are now living like an adult.

actual stuff important to game-play:
-furniture upgrades your stats in game
-press space to skip dialogue
-no penalty for losing
-you get paid every day at your job
-you can place furniture *anywhere*

and btw there is no sound. I ran out of time. Also it has game maker propaganda all over it. Didn't have time to fix that either... sorry
and if you'll excuse me, I have an essay to write for school. enjoy!

I like that you can place furniture anywhere. The game is challenging and fun, i enjoyed it.

I enjoyed this! It was ambitious to make a game within a game, and have dialog/story as well as the board game. Nice work! I played through to the end, winning the board game on my second time.

In the board game, I got into a bit of cycle, where events would repeat themselves. I adjusted when I used my fireball and the new pattern was better for me, getting two skeletons over to dogpile him.

I'm not sure what's going on here. But I won I guess? Was I supposed to have loads of money from the very start?

I am not sure how to win? seems like anything can go anywhere.

I'm not sure if there was strategy involved, but I thought the story was cute.

Lots of nice idea here ! :) Although graphically it is not very good, everything works well, the story is funny and I liked to be able to choose the place of the furnitures. It would have been nice if it was a little longer and complex but I enjoyed it overall :)

I had no idea what I was doing with the board game. I would click randomly and I managed to beat the game without feeling I did anything. Placing furniture was a nice touch and a tie to the theme but I had crazy amounts of starting money for an unknown reason. Might be bug.

Interesting dynamic combat system...

I really liked the game's conclusion. Maybe it's better that it has no sound, otherwise you would probably used some annoying autogenerated a'la 8bit sounds (just like I did with bfxr :)). I liked that you gave so much money to start with. Good luck with your essay.

I think this will be Heroes =)
But this was more simpleer + I have infinite money

Idea is good and some elements are implemented very interesting, but please take in considirations moments above

Nice entry. I like the idea behind it. It'd be more challenging if you had to save up money for upgrades instead of having a ton of money at the start. I think it'd also be more interesting if you could control the minions in the board game somehow. This has potential, good work! :)

This was very cute! I wish there was a little more to the combat, and I had so much money I could buy everything on day one (?), but otherwise it's a real cute game.
Congrats for making it!

Good effort! Interesting concept and nice work for dialogue, story and message at the end. If you would further develop the game, the board gameplay can be refined, the room's decorations can be trophies you won in tournaments etc to give you income. There is good potential.
