It is a good tower defense game! I really liked the stage that is featured in the post with two spawn points. Always good to see a little twist like that!
Nice sounds, graphics are ok overall. Maybe some more balancing, at some from level 10 it was to easy and I didnt realy needed all the money that I got. I addition maybe adding an option to skip the delay between levels? i had to wait 30 sec alot of times for the next level to come.
A little bit of balancing and some polish would definitely help this game out, but overall it was still quite enjoyable. One of the better TD games I've played in LD.
I love that sound effect when the contagions die. I've gotten to about wave 25 before writing this, unfortunately I need more of a challenge. None of the enemies are making it past the first two defenses that I have, and once I kill everything I have a good amount of time to wait (I'm playing the game at 3x speed). I want to try another level, but I MUST see if the game ends when you get to level 100. :D
Thank you again to everyone who has played so far! Yeah I know it could definitely use more balancing, that was one of the hardest parts for me, but sadly I ran out of time towards the end for any further balancing.
Solid tower defense game. Took me a bit to figure out a good strategy but then I made it to wave 26 with just Splashers and Fasts at 100 health and 32.000 leukocytes left. Unfortunately from that point on the game waits 60 seconds between stages so I decided to leave it at that. Not sure if that is a bug though, maybe because I use fast forward a lot and the timer is not affected by that.
I found a bug when you use 2x and 3x speed up, in that case the towers hit the opponents much less frequently. I assume this is because when you speed up the positions of the shots change by a greater step size, so they skip the opponents' position more frequently. So whenever I am in danger of being overrun, I turn down the speed to 1x and immediately back up to 3x, but yeah, you may want to fix that.
I don't know whether there is an end to the levels as I quit at 26, but I feel the game could be improved by having shorter rounds, maybe by increasing the difficulty ramp up, but you said you ran out of time towards the end, so this kind of balancing probably fell victim to that.
Control-wise I would have preferred the tower placement to be inverted, i.e. select the tower type and then select the position, because that would have allowed the player to place multiple towers of the same type more quickly.
All in all I enjoy tower defense, and yours is a decent example of the genre. With a bit of polishing and improved graphics it could become really great.
Although my pc died while playing (faulty graphics card, it was old :worried:) I had a good time! I liked the speed up feature, but I feel the fact that I felt the need to use it means the game is potentially too easy. There are a lot of levels and upgrades which is great, but the art style is a little inconsistent. This is mostly due to the background paths, if these where slightly smoother and uniform they would've fitted better.
I'd say the levels were a tad too long, once I was doing well enough, it just became a matter of waiting. Otherwise I loved it! The music was a really nice change of pace from the normal electronica I usually hear in LD games.
The basic mechanics of this tower defense game are pretty solid. Balance is always the tricky thing with this type of game, and I think I maybe lucked into a game-breakingly easy setup by relying on splash, burst, and snipers. I made it through 31 levels, just watching it go and didn't have to touch it for the most part, other than to occasionally upgrade something with the massive surplus of points that I'd gained. If you can figure out how to make it properly balanced so as to be challenging, then it'd be rather good.
