My first LD, so having had a think about loads of bizarre ideas, I decided instead to try to just finish a simple game with coloured lights. Match sets of two lights before the battery runs down, try not to make mistakes. That's it.
The colors being random leads to some extremely similar looking pairs which can be a bit mean. Other than that it's fun to try to find pairs in as short of a time as possible. Maybe have a limited list of very distinct colors (maybe 4 panels of the same color) but then penalize mistakes with power drain? Just a suggestion :-)
