Master Engineer, your task is to maintain the status quo in our glorious nation as long as possible.

This is my first time participating in Ludum Dare, and it was a lot of fun.
Made in Game Maker so it is a .exe file, so your firewall probably doesn't like it. Press F to switch between fullscreen and windowded. Press escape to exit the game and R to restart.

It's hard to understand what to do exactly. But it has potential none the less!
Congrats for you first LD :)

Congratulations on your first ludumdare! I really like the concept of this game and think this could be something i would really enjoy and that's alot for someone's first LD game.

However the game has some big problems for me at the moment. The game is very slow and doesn't have much to do once you manage to connect all power inputs to a power plant. I see that you have attempted to remedy this with random events, but I mostly get an event that makes an area unhappier which isn't a problem if you have set everything up since there's more power sources than inputs. I also got an event that added a power input to the eastern border town. I think if there would have been more events like this, the game would have been pretty fun. I also got the oil embargo event alot which i think is supposed to remove your power sources but i think it might be bugged since it appears to do nothing but I might be wrong and I just didn't notice anything.

In short, I think this game has some potential, however at the moment there are far too few events that make you re-arrange the power lines. However I love the theme and mood of the game. It reminds me a lot of papers please.
