Don Quijote is valiently fighting the “troops” of Pentapolin in glorious battle. Thou Sancho, as his loyal squire, shalt assist him by providing him with the Fierabrás Balm that cures everything. Yet restrain theeself as thee donkey’s bag contains paralyzing potions, heavy stones and valuable gold ingots found during your adventure in addition to the magical medicine.
Move thee donkey with LEFT and RIGHT arrow keys while throwing the content of thee bag with SPACE BAR.
May Don Quijote’s invincible arm bless thou in this venture!
I enjoyed the concept! I love Don Quijote, and I like the style in which you wrote the manual! I also like the fact that this was made with the Godot engine; I was going to use Godot for my game, but I wound up sticking with something more familiar until Beta 2 was ready. Props to you for using it, though!
A few notes:
* The text on the opening scroll is *really* hard to read
* The sheep kept eating everything I was throwing -- I'm not sure if this is intentional or not
* I wasn't 100% sure what I was doing. I saw that Don Quijote would chase after the things I threw, and if I did it enough I would move on to the next level, but it wasn't completely clear exactly what I was throwing and what it did.
* I was able to walk offscreen and never come back -- perhaps put barriers on either side of the level?
I didnt know whats going on. What was I supposed to do? I didnt know whether what I was doing was good or bad. I as a player need more Output whenever I do an Input.
I like the theme and the presentation but found it hard to trial-and-error figure out what effects any of my actions had on the end results. It felt like there was an interesting system that I was just struggling to find.
I had a little difficulty reading the tutorial scroll in the beginning, having a more interactive tutorial might be a good idea for a game like this. Nice job with the time you were given, though!
