ICE RINK RALLY

heh, i got 6th place on my first try :p
I need to buy some friends for multiplayer though.

I also need some friends for that sweet multiplayer. Also, that's one of those racing games, where I inevitably suck in the global high scores. Nice little idea.

Fun simple game! The highscore table made me play it a couple of times

✱ Well that's pretty much all, I don't expect more from a jam game so it's good already. Not sure how that game could grow, maybe an AI competitor with a tournament would hook the player to play more and find "strategies" to handle the crowd and defeat competitor ?

@lythom thanks for the feedback! I agree gamepad support would be cool, especially for local multiplayer. Didn't have time to squeeze it in, but will add it soon to my post-version :)

Challenging! Plays really well (good controls, physics, ..), I like the leader board, made me try to do better. Could use some improvement in graphics I guess. But the most important part of any game (for me) was there, so good :)

This was an enjoyable little game. I haven't seen anything like this on here. I feel great about my time of 35.45! - I'm in 10th!!! It offers a challenge, without being too difficult. When you play this game, you want to play again, and try to do better. Nice simulation of ice. Well done.

This was nice to play and try to reach the top of the ladder!

I had just one small problem whith the web browser version: when I restart, sometimes the controls don't work,so had to refresh the page.

The leaderboard is a nice touch! Definitely makes single player more interesting. I didn't have anybody around to try out the multiplayer with, unfortunately. Good job!

I only played the single player mode and I thought it was pretty interesting. I liked the game's crazy physics but there was one incident in where my player started to randomly fly up in the air and then land down on the ground. I enjoyed the leaderboards mechanics because it made the game a lot more fun. This game was not really innovative though, as it was just a simple racing game. I did like the way you interpreted the theme and thought it was pretty interesting. I also thought the game was kind of humorous because of the exposition. The whole concept about slow skaters getting in the your way is pretty funny. Unfortunately, I didn't like the simplistic graphics as the aesthetic didn't look pleasing to me. I also didn't like the fact that the game didn't have audio. Overall, this game is kind of decent.

This really feels like it could be a good party game where you're less concerned about winning and more concerned about making your friends angry. I didn't get a chance to try the local multiplayer, but I might see if I can get someone else to join in sometime.

The graphics were really simple (obviously), but you made sure everything was clear - what direction the character was facing, where the safe spots on the rink were, etc... It's really easy to overlook giving the player visual cues like that, but they go a long way in helping things feel understandable and enjoyable. Keep up the good work.

There was no my dude at the first try. And sometimes game throws player up.
Other things is done well. Good mechnics, everything is clear.

hahaha great drift game :D i loved the game physics, i really want to break your lap record XD I'll give another try later :) good and addicting thanks to the leaderboard, good controls and feeling, I just wish there was a restart button to spare some seconds, because sometimes randomness makes it a bit unfair; i was also once droped from the sky, few seconds after the game has started :) Great job ! @knarf thanks! You can press escape and there's a restart button, but it's a bit buggy in the submission version. Check out the post version, it sorts that out and also the random physics freak-outs on startup :)

Simple but fun! I enjoyed it!

Fun. Keyboard controls are not great. You should add an online multiplayer game. You probably should have some skaters go the opposite directions. And add a little IA for their movements as most were not moving a lot.

Really cool drift racing game. It would be a lot better with ice skater models and animations.

Leaderboard wasn't working when I played, but I still played a couple times to get my time down to 30 seconds. Simple idea, but had fun. I could see playing this with more courses and a tournament mode similar mode similar to Mario Kart. Good job!

@chunkybrewster ya, the leaderboard is down atm, not sure why :/ (cheap hosting option I guess...)
If you got your time to 30 seconds you would've been top! current 1st is 31.99s
