wow. the art in this game is stunning. Really looks good, and brought a lot of charm to the simple mechanics at play. I'd love to see some other pixel art that you've done! Great work!
stencilchris5 Dec 2017, 03:29
Very fun experience! The feeling of "the more you have, the worse it is" is VERY evident when playing. Art is very polished too.
Ziamor5 Dec 2017, 03:30
Yea, gotta admit the art is gorgeous.

The game is Lots of fun. I really like the art. Though the screen effects are kinda annoying and I wish my score carried over from room to room.
DanielClarc5 Dec 2017, 11:47
Simply Awesome! The game is very clear about it's goals and he doesn't fail delivering anything. Congratulations!

But there was a stage where the gold didn't fade after picking it, so you could picking it up infinitely hahaha

Haha yeah Maurim is stuck in a infinit loop. The exit is not evident :grim:

You definitely spent too much time on the art and didn't have time for polishing the game:
Pathfinding for the enemies is very strange, they walk through the walls and unwalkable areas sometimes.
On the second level there is a bugged pile of gold that you can get infinite amount of times.
I hope that you will update this game at some point at itch.io

Really nice!!! Turned out super polished. Loved all the menu and HUD work, consistent style, design of the areas, theme... just all came together really well. The music was slick too.

This is a really above-average entry, graphics are incredibly polished and the gameplay is direct, simple and fun. I'm particularly fan of the soundtrack, it's groovy and fits the action perfectly. Long live greedy treasure hunters!!!

Found an infinite pile of gold. Got greedy. Was killed by an enemy because I was carrying too much to run away. 8/10 would get mauled by a mummy again.

The gameplay is fun, The art is awesome, The audio is Good, You nailed the theme and the mood. Overall great job!

Really good vibes overall, there is always something super fun about raiding tombs and stealing cursed treasures (specially when you have a bad trip with cursed gold shrooms). Very charming graphics and nice music.

The skulls can get stuck into you very easily and some times it feels impossible to escape, which is probably my biggest complaint. But well, I guess that is the price to pay for being greedy right?

Congrats on the game, you guys did a great job!

Really great looking game! Love the concept and the mechanic of slowing down the more you get. Makes crossing the spites even more stressful. Looking forward to seeing if you add more to it.

I couldn't get the door on the third room to open? I tried a few times but always got stuck there with the treasure. :( Also I didn't find any menu or buttons to exit the game? Cool graphics, music and lovely thematics!

Really neat game with some really great pixel art! Its very fun though It seems like I encountered some bugs. There were some treasure I could collect infinitly and enemies walking through walls, but otherwise really fun =)

Excellent. The graphics are a standout, the music fits well, and the mechanic is cool. I like trying to get the monsters stuck on scenery to make my escape. What exactly is that green effect that covers the screen? Is that medallion cursed? Great work everyone!

Good fun, love the graphics and the challenge. Not a fan of the walk wobble, but overall pretty good.

Barely surviving is great!

This is a LudumDare game that really doesn't feel rushed. It looks good, sounds good, has a simple mechanic that proves itself challenging, figuring out how to beat the levels is awesome. I really liked. It's really good. Also dying doesn't takes long to restart, so you are back up and playing again! Really a solid game. :gem: :gem: :gem: :gem: :gem:

Amazing art, theme and sfx! I REALLY liked the idea of picking treasures that could modify my gameplay. If you invest a little more into polish and bug correction it could turn into a very very good game. It is a very good and solid overall entry nonetheless. Congratulations team!

@dragoon thanks! @bakudas made an awesome pixelart work! I just did animations, we are srly thinking to turn it a game, at least, make a proper version of it(more mechanism less bugs etc). Thanks for playing! :heartbeat:

Excellent little game. Definitely a fun challenge to figure out the order of getting the treasures and how many you can get. Great take on the theme. Like the strange shader effects of some of the special treasures. Probably would add a UI element showing the target treasure count before you can get the door to open. Very nice work.

I enjoyed trying your game. It's pretty solid.

I enjoyed the increasing difficulty of the rooms and the variety of scenery. The soundtrack was great, too. It fit really well.

I can definitely see this becoming a full adventure! Great work.

Very good, especially the pixel art. I ended up getting stuck on level 3 (I think?) because there were always skulls following right behind me, and I was always slower than them after picking up enough treasure to exit the level.

MewSoul9 Dec 2017, 21:27
Really nice, art looks definitely great, and the use of the theme is pretty good! I guess it has already been said but the AI can walk through the walls and some sprites go over the player, otherwise it's all good! Just a bit more polish could be done, like having the sprite of the player flashing to white when you're hit for a visual feedback, and maybe a meter to show how much you have in your bag to judge a bit better how much you should take. :) Congrats for this entry!
MarjorieP10 Dec 2017, 02:15
This was a really nice game with a good grasp of the theme! The cute pixel art and sounds really sold the experience, well done.

Great game! The implementation of the theme is a little too obvious here, but you did something great despite that!
Loving the visual and the overall concept. The gameplay is really addicting and I can definitely see that become a full game in the future.

Some of the collisions could be a little frustrating at times though: I'd say the best fix for that is to either reduce the size of some of the collision boxes on some objects or don't give collision boxes to some of the minor background objects.

Excellent work overall!

You have something really solid here! You could probably release it with a few design and balance improvements. Also, Brasil precisa lançar mais jogos! Haha!

Congratulations on your submission, I enjoyed it a lot guys. (Loved the bongos)

The pixel art in this is fantastic. One of the better entries I've played so far, nice job. Liked the gameplay mechanic and that the levels were quick and not dragged out layouts. Would be nice if there was a completing level transition with him entering the door but know this is a jam so you never get time for everything :) great polished entry with art and music that works really well together, congrats.

This was my first idea! A simil-mario (in my head was more like wario haha) collecting coins in a bag but with a platform style. Really love the pixel art! and the design of some levels. You have a good core here for a future game. Congrats!

The art is really nice. There are a lot of different images, and they are all solid quality.

The game is faithful to the theme, but I find that making the player weaker is frustrating. I found myself dying because a single blue enemy would hit me repeatedly after I had picked up the required amount of treasure. I couldn't beat the level in which there is an island in the middle and a big square of spikes around it.

You should probably name the folder something other than LD40 so that players don't get games mixed up.

The first level taught me that I need to get all of the treasure, and on future levels I found that I need an unknown amount of treasure, which makes it difficult to plan the order in which I should pick up treasure. An indicator of how much treasure I need would help.

Nice game! The mechanics remind me a bit of my own game actually  but yours feels more polished. The retro graphics are good and there is a nice atmosphere. Only thing I'd suggest is to have a better idea of what amount is needed to make the door open.

You game was a very nice take on the theme, and the graphics looked awesome!
I noticed the occasional texture seem in the world (I think they sometimes happen in Unity when you have pixel snap on and two adjacent sprites snap to pixels leaving a one wide gap, if you turn off pixel snap and make sure the vertices are touching it's not usually an issue).

Great work on this game, I had fun playing it!
