MIES Card Game

Hello!

The game is Unfinished, but it was really cool to make it! I am back to Ludum Dare after some editions away and this was the first game I made with my wife! She is an undergraduate student of Architecture and I ask her to do the game art.

There is an easy reference to Architecture here. If "The more you have it, the worse it is", then "Less is more" :D This phrase was made famous by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, a famous architect. That's why we called the game MIES.

We took a very straightfoward approach to the theme by making a shedding card game (from wiki: "the objective is to get rid of all your cards while preventing the other players from getting rid of their cards").
As the game type is pretty common, I decided to focus on the players interactions, but you won't be able to fully taste it with the current unfinished version.

Each round a player is the defender and all the others are the attackers. Each attacker plays a card in front of the defender. The defender, then, can play his cards to counter the attackers cards.

Each card has an effect, a counter condition and a countereffect. It the card is not countered, it goes to the defender hand and has it's effect performed. If the card is countered, both cards (attacker and defender) goes to the draw pile and the attacker card countereffect is performed.

We will keep developing until it is finished. I will update here.
We will also print it to play with friends after it's done. :)
