* POST GAME UPDATE *

I wanted to post a v2 update to my game now that voting is complete... so if anyone wants to give it a try:

It's still not finished, but it is closer to my original idea... You are a space miner collecting different minerals from asteroids... shooting an asteroid breaks it apart (to get the mineral), but creates more smaller, indestructible asteroids that will cause damage to your ship when touched. The more minerals you try to get, the worse it is.

Control your ship with the arrow keys (left/right to turn, up for thrust); ctrl, shift or space to fire; z or x to toggle a 'bigger picker upper' on/off.

I will keep pushing updates as they become available. Thanks again for giving it a try!

* INCOMPLETE GAME *

Unfortunately I was not able to complete my game on time, but here is what I have...

(2nd Ludum Dare!) You are a space miner, roaming through space destroying asteroids to collect the minerals contained within. Collect the minerals (there are nine different types) and return to Earth to earn money for all of your found minerals and more energy for additional trips into space. The more asteroids you destroy the more will spawn.

Control your ship with the arrow keys (left/right to turn, up for thrust) and ctrl to fire.

NOTE: Because the game is not complete, the asteroids do not move, explode apart or leave a mineral to collect. Instead asteroids have been positioned around the playing field to be shot at to earn the cost of the mineral that would have been contained within (hopefully I'll have the asteroids flying around and the rest of the game finished soon).
