_The days of the farm are behind him, but that won't stop Dogo from doing what he does best. He is going to be a good boy..._
Help the neighborhood sleep by rounding up all of the noisy cats. Your bark is a mighty tool! Herding cats ain't easy, but somebody's gotta do it! See if you can beat all five levels!
This is my first longer game jam, I'm pretty pleased with what I've achieved in 48 hours. Although, there were a few bumps along the way.
You are a BAD BOI. Poor Doggo :( I gotta say this is an impressive entry for a first jam. While playing, I was reminded of and old game for my ancient Palm Pilot coincidentally enough called "Herdin' Cats." I think you nailed the theme. But, while well done, I was a bit put off by the mood. Set in a kind of creepy dark alley, I kept waiting for something terrible to happen to poor Doggo. I kind of felt bad for Doggo and wished he was back on the farm herding sheep.
@fussenkuh thanks. I'm a full time developer, and make games as a hobby, so this was mostly a matter of scope :)
The mood was supposed to be a bit lighter. I planned to add a lighthearted chase song (a'la Benny Hill) but I ran out of time and I suck at making music ;)
This is a really nice creation ! Despite the fact that WASD keys wasn't the best for my keyboard I still had a nice amount of fun barking away ! I really like the art, the characters feel as if they are carved out from wood ! Cheers :) !
Really fun game, and really challenging when the cats keep coming out of the bloody bin! Loved the graphics but the mood is so dark. I also happened to make a game about herding cats if you want to check it out.
Couldn't figure out where to herd the cats at first... I guess.. the trash?
I had a problem where pressing space often did not bork. Seemed like it was usually when I was holding down movement keys or just changed directions, but I could not narrow it down. It was definitely not due to being out of power, just sometimes wouldn't bork. I ended up changing my strategy to just constantly tap space instead of carefully place my borks, and then was able to get through all of the levels.
This was extra cute! Dogo rulez. The meshes and animations were ultra nice. Controls were OK for me. It took me a moment to figure out I need to "trash" the kitties then it was a lot of fun. And hard. Good job mister, impressive for 48 hours! "Bork bork" :D
I really liked the mechanic and level design. The time limit was a bit tight at times, especially with the cats jumping out of the dumpster all the time, but overall a very nice game :)
Would be great to have the goal better described, as i was loosing some times, without really knowing to do, i first thought that i need to get the cat out of the screen. At the web version the key combination always tried to add a bookmark or saving the page. It would be great here to have the arrow keys also listed in the controls.
Additionally it would general be good to have the controls listed in the page description, to have people also while playing recheck which keys can be pressed.
@pcmaster thanks :) The animations were made in a hurry simply by rotation and translation but they turned out good.
@ballin thanks, I constantly readjusted the time limit. Luckily I had a few beers and tried playing the game, then I realized that it's too hard and raised the time limit by about 50%. Maybe I should have had one more ;)
@phaix hmm, on a mac cmd+D adds a shortcut so there should be no conflict, but I haven't checked on other platforms. Arrows were listed in the controls but the web version font doesn't display them. As per your suggestion, I have updated the description to show the goal and controls. Thank! :)
Nice one! I like the simple - yet effective - idea, the graphics are nice as well. I'd say the atmosphere is a bit strange in those dark alleys though ^^ I found the handling to be a bit hard to master to make the cats move the way we want them too. Otherwise, a pretty strong and fun entry. Congrats on being a good boi! ;)
Where can I hire dogo!? Although, I wonder if his barks keep me more awake than the cat's meow - lol. Nicely done. Simple to grasp but hard to master. :)

Love the bork sound =).
I experienced the problem with the space key sporadically. Unfortunately I didn't have enough time to investigate.

Great Graphics btw. for a compo game - i am really impressed what you did.

Congrats on being a good boi! ;)
@linky439 thanks, I didn't manage to add music which is why the atmosphere feels off to many people. Maybe next time ;)
@prodigalson Thanks :) There are plenty of dogos available for hire in your local alley or pound ;)
