In this game you control a thief that steals piece of arts that is worth it. You must grab the pieces and take to the van. But wacth out for the alarms, If you touch it, it's over. When you done, return to the van, but if the time runs out, you lose.
Controls:
WASD: Move
Space: Jump
Shift: Run
Left Click: Interact with objects
ESC: Exit game
LD 40 Theme: The more you have, the worse it is
When you grab a piece of art, you become slow. You can grab any quantity, but it will be more difficult to move.
Limitations:
This compo was made as challenge with my coworkers. Each one of us choose a engine and made a game with the limitations:
I like the limited color palette. The collision detection was a little hard to judge on the lasers but I managed to slip through and grab pickle rick after a few tries :P
This is really well done! I'm impressed with how elaborate the level design is, particularly for a compo game. The lasers are a little unforgiving since you can't see yourself, but they're a challenge I kept coming back to. Pleasant music composition as well. Nice work.
Nice work, really great use of the theme. In retrospect, stealing things and dealing with the issues of having more at once was something I should have tried, it only occurred to me about 2/3rds into the compo, haha.
I stole the triforce! :D I like the graphics, I think the limitations on the palette can actually be a pretty good thing :) The only frustrating bit was perhaps the laser hitboxes. There were times when I was hit by the laser and it didn't seem to touch me. But overall, good idea, and fun entry!
Enjoyed exploring the world. It is well put together with verticality to boot. The audiovisuals are good too.
Dodging laser beams and stealing art is less exciting in the long run. Trying to steal more and more without tripping an alarm is a legit challenge, but redoing the same segments multiple times does take its toll. In the end I managed 7600 big ones, only left the two story room in the back and the massive painting topside alone on that run. Those are too risky ventures.
Could use some more movement abilities, crouching combined with a quick, short-range dash would fit well. Mastering the current set of abilities (can you even call basic movement that?) is too easy. Some gadgets are worth considering too. I find it hard to swallow that any bloke with a car can just waltz in and nick valuables left and right.
edit: so we need both files..
