Wrath of the Crickets vs Brigham Young is a multiplayer cooperative and/or competitive game for up to 4 pioneers. A horde of crickets has descended upon your precious wheat farm. The more you grow, the worse it seems to get. Master your skills as a farmer, birdwatcher, sculptor, and arsonist as you seek wealth in the Great Salt Lake Valley. The first player to construct a monument to Brigham Young will bring God's blessings upon the land and end this plague.

Notes - WASD or mouse menu selection - You can only start fires on your own wheat fields or grass (but they can spread however they choose AHAHHAHAA) - The game works in single player mode if you host a game by yourself - if you want to host a game with other players you need to enable UDP port forwarding - The game is currently balanced towards competitive mode, which means it's pretty easy to win single player, try timing yourself to see how quickly you can win!
Haha. The balance is definitely unfair. I didn't have time to playtest. I'm going to do a balance update and fix an issue I found with multiplayer. That will probably be pushed out within a couple hours.
I didn't manage to set up a multiplayer session, but I'll try it later :) Graphics are cool, i like the menus. One complaint here is that navigating said menu is hard, sometimes the WASD buttons feel unrepsonsive, like they're synced to the server or something.
This was quite fun. The graphics were very nice and it was pretty intuitive to figure out. The game also fits the challenging theme very well. Overall, excellent job.

Didn't really understand the game that well, do I need more wheat to use all the abilities?
I'm trying game in a VM and I got an error message about a missing api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll. Not sure it is meaningful since the VM I use is probably not up to date.
takes a second to understand what everything does, but its pretty fun. There is some sort of audio bug when the fire reaches the edge of the screen btw.
Very fun! I like that at certain points it almost becomes a chicken shooter. The controls take a little time to get used to but I *definitely* didn't accidentally set fire to an entire field of wheat...... :)
Also, a networked SFML game in a game jam, that takes skill :)
But I think balance is unfair. I can't progress
