It's my entry for Ludem Dare 41, theme of "Combine Two Incompatible Genres". This is a stealth based farming sim where you have to avoid dogs while planting and growing flowers (for points), or bushes (to hide in). Don't get caught!!
🌺 Grow some nice plants
Use spacebar to plant seeds or water the thirsty plants you've planted. >
🐕 But watch out for that doggo
There's a dog wandering around looking for gnomes, probably a good idea to stay away from canines. >
🍃 Hide in bushes
It's a good thing you're small and can hide in the bushes you grew. >

This was interesting. I didn't notice the dogs until I already grew a bunch of plants. By then it was far too late for me to save myself. I did find the square-based movement to be a little restricting, though. I applaud your music! It was simple and really made the game feel more alive. Good work!
Nice job! I'd love to see this with some more plants that do different stuff! I kind of felt like there could have been a little more pressure from the get go. Like maybe patrolling guards that walk in a predictable pattern to make you choose your movements.

Thanks @jcsirron and @jhandsy! Yeah, if I had time to do the jam instead of compo I would've done more with the doggos for sure. And I would've liked to include more plant types too and experiment more with movement. Thanks for playing!
i was a proud gnome papa of 11 plant babies, happy as could be - then doggo got ahold of me... next time i'll grow more bushes... also the dirt smiles at you, this game has it all :smile:
